Till Today

Since our establishment in May 8, 2009, we have brainstormed and successfully done many exciting things. Although it was only our first full semester as a recognized colony at BU, we still managed to get things going. We held several community service and sisterhood events. It was the perfect time for us to get acquainted with our responsibilities as founding mothers.
Here's some of what happened:

Animal Shelter:
There was a Terrier, super cute and friendly, but a lady came and adopted him before we could play with him again. It was a bittersweet moment. We all either played or watched the dogs run around, but it was so hard to bring them back to their cage. They just didn't want to go back. We played with most of the dogs except for the 7 ft tall twin dogs who needed to have experienced dog people... yikes. By the end of the day, all of us, including those of us who were extremely scared of dogs, walked and took a picture with one :D It was an awesome time. We need to go back again guys!

Cradles to Crayons:
We took two trains and walked up a little hill to get here. Once there, we printed out some cute name tags, tied up our hair, and got to work! Our jobs were to take the boxes of donated clothes, toys, etc. out of the truck and onto the conveyor belt. Some of us were at the other end of the belt and we sorted out the boxes and put them in carts to bring to the appropriate place where they would be sorted out separately. This was some hard work! We were pretty sore by the time we were done. But what was so moving was the fact that birthday packages with these items were made for kids who would love to see these presents. It was just the image of the large plastic bag tied up with a child's name on it that made all of what we did worth it.

For now, this is getting long so we'll update you again soon :)
